The Government of India has appointed Sanjay Malhotra as the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet confirmed the name of Malhotra as the new RBI Governor replacing Shaktikanta Das; who served a 6-year term (2018- 2024) in RBI as Governer.
Malhotra will be the RBI Governor from Wednesday, December 11, 2024. His tenure will be of three years.
