Taking a significant step to enhance the state’s infrastructure and economic growth, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled nine key development Proposals during a pre-budget meeting in New Delhi. Aimed at shaping the fiscal year 2025-26, these proposals focus on boosting urban development, improving transport infrastructure and advancing the health and education sectors.

Proposal 1; Emphasis on Urban Development

The Chief Minister emphasised the need to enhance financial support for urban development. Proposal 2; Boost infrastructure and connectivity

The key proposals include significant investments in the rail and road sectors. Better infrastructure is crucial for economic growth and is essential for attracting investments. The meeting underlined the strategic importance of economic corridors and industrial lands, reflecting the commitment towards promoting local industries and job creation.

Proposal 5; Accepting Central Assistance

Proposal 6; Developing investment opportunities

Discussions during the recent GST conference indicated a willingness to simplify and modify existing proposals to improve Odisha’s fiscal position. These changes are necessary to increase the state’s revenue flow and ultimately secure more funds for future projects.
